Caramels and Calligraphy

I recently celebrated a birthday and one of my favorite gifts I received came from a wonderful woman who has always been a true advocate for satisfying my craving for sweets.

These handmade caramels from Katherine Anne Duncan of Katherine Anne Confections are to die for!  Her specialty caramels and truffles are all handmade from scratch using only the finest natural ingredients that are local or organic.  They are sweet and decadent and since they do not use any artificial preservatives, flavors or colors you don't have to feel guilty about eating a whole box full!

After eating three caramels myself and admiring their super cute packaging, I felt inspired to create calligraphy signs highlighting the unique flavors.  My special package included Early Grey Tea and Pear flavored caramels...  The two signs below showcases my favorite flavors: Rosemary Sea Salt and Fig.

I'm a huge fan of these confections and they are a perfect favor for a special event or just a nice gift for anyone that appreciates home made goodies.

Map design for AFR Networker

I was so excited to get the call from AFR Event Furnishings to design an original map for their 4th annual networker at the Orlando History Center.  I have been to hundreds of vendor parties representing other companies but this was the VERY FIRST event that I represented EMMAY DESIGN and seeing your own logo on marketing material is such a thrilling feeling.  To have my logo seen with the top industry vendors in Orlando is very humbling and I am incredibly honored to have partnered up with these trendsetters.

The theme for their mixer was "History Happening" so it was totally fitting to host their event at The Orlando History Center.  AFR always does it big so they can't just have one floor... they needed THREE plus the courtyard outside to accommodate the hundreds of people in attendance.

Since their theme was History Happening they showcased 3 specific eras in time: The Roaring Twenties on the 3rd floor, The Awesome 80s on the 2nd floor and modern day featured outside in the courtyard.  Below is the finished map and it was received so well I couldn't have been more happy with the end result.

And take a look at the video from the party.  Thank you to Tampa Wonderworks Film for putting this together!

Stefanie and Barton's elephant inspired Save the Dates

Stefanie and Barton wanted a unique and personalized way of announcing their engagement to their family and friends.

Having the highest regard for elephants and their symbolism for Commitment and Strength they wanted to incorporate this throughout their wedding.  They even got a graphic designer to design their own personal elephant graphic!

When faced with the challenge of coming up with a great Save the Date, we quickly turned to Sweet Maralyn's Chocolates who has done chocolate elephants for us before.  They were such a great hit at the previous wedding, we knew that Stefanie and Barton would love these too!

The completed piece.  The top of each box was etched with Stefanie and Barton's elephant graphic.

Each elephant was gold dusted and wrapped in a thick celo bag and tied off with organza ribbon and gold beads.
An old world map lined the bottom of the box.

The paper save the date was double layered ivory on top of chocolate brown Stardream paper.

Chris and Christy's New Year's Eve Wedding

Working for a top wedding planner allows me to have the most AMAZING clients.  Chris and Christy got married on New Years Eve 2010 and I was asked to design a number of items for their wedding including a reception program and menu, calligraphy for their place cards and even design their aisle runner.  I was thrilled to have been a part of their wedding and I love these pictures from their big day.

Chris and Christy say "I do".  Love their aisle runner!

Menu Card/Itineraries were tucked into each place setting napkin and were bejeweled with Swarovski crystals.

Christy loves hummingbirds and I love how these place cards turned out.  I calligraphed each guests name in red ink and then each one was placed on the rim of champagne glasses.

The whole room put together.... so beautiful!

Thanks to Heather Snively of Weddings Unique for the opportunity to work with Christy and Chris and Caroline Johnson Photography for these incredible pictures.
